Spaces, Thoughts explores the School for the Contemporary Arts as a building filled with interesting, peculiar, and idiosyncratic spaces. Throughout the school, building features both Large and small, central and obscure, are repurposed as homes for 40 small human figures. Drawing from use and design choices in the space, these figures respond to memories, architectural details, and physical cues for action or interaction, in the process making a tenuous claim to the space. Disrupting the everyday experience in the building as they live and interact with their surroundings, they invite us to consider a closer look, and an alternate perspective.

Spaces, Thoughts was exhibited in the 2013 SFU BFA 1st Year Campus Projects Exhibition which was installed throughout the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts in Vancouver, BC.
