This is Where it Started proposes Stanley Park as a shared and contested site of multiple relationships. As an indigenous site and the city’s premier destination for locals and tourists, everyone has a relationship to Stanley Park. This text based project suggests the Seawall as an intensely personal space for conversation and discourse. Surrounding the park with open-ended confessions that invite reflection on our understanding and assumptions of the park as a public sight through the cheerful means of colorful banners that surround the periphery of the park.

This Is Where It Started was exhibited in the 2017 SFU Laboratory Landscapes Exhibition held in Stanley Park, as part of the Canada 150 Signature Project LandMarks2017/Repères2017
